Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) community logo guidelines

At Red Hat, DEI communities are associate-led groups that help their community members and allies to build stronger internal and external networks through social, educational, and outreach activities.

DEI communities use logos based on our initiative logos with additional colors to represent their vibrant people and cultures. They are only provided on recommendation of the Brand and Creative team, and should always be used with the Red Hat® logo.

Clear space is the area around the logo that should not have text, distracting graphics, or other logos. This allows the logo to be legible and stand out. The clear space for DEI community logos is at least the height of the letter "e" in the word "Red."

DEI community logos don't have the Red Hat logo incorporated into their design, so it should always be included nearby. This makes it clear to those outside of the company that the community is associated with Red Hat. Make sure the logos are a comfortable distance from each other; double the height of the "e" is a good place to start.

DEI community logos are produced in 2 full color versions: standard and reverse. They're also produced in one-color versions, but you should use the full color versions unless there's a production constraint requiring only one color.

Applying DEI community logos

When including a DEI community logo on a digital application, always include the Red Hat logo somewhere nearby.

On swag and other multi sided applications, we include the Red Hat logo in a separate imprint area as needed.

Some DEI communities have guidance around the use of color and other elements because of potential cultural implications. Be sure to review the community-specific guidelines before using a logo.

For DEI communities that have regional or specialized chapters, the chapter name can be added to the logo. Any addition to a DEI community logo should be approved by the Brand and Creative team.
